Residents Stunned as NY Transplant Keeps Opinion on Local Pizza Scene to Himself

it’s a right of passage for every East Coast transplant — despite moving here of their own free will — to complain about the quality of pizza in Colorado.

This why residents of Tripping Falls were rocked to the core this past week when relocated New York native Ryan Moretti referred to the local pizza as “real nice.”

“That’s just not the kind of thing you hear from anyone east of the Rockies,” said Chrys Hughes, longtime resident and proprietor of The Lodge. “We don’t mind living in a cool place that people want to move to, but we’re done hearing about how ‘the pizza’s so much better’ back east.”

“There were more than a few of us who were caught off-guard,” said restauranteur Dave Yeti. “The thought of elk sausage pizza would throw most New Yorkers into a Baldwinian rage. But this guy just ate a couple slices, thanked us, paid his bill and left.”

Moretti posted this review on his Instagram page:

Even more shockingly, Moretti has yet to be seen in public wearing a Yankees hat, instead opting to support his new community with some locally designed threads. Moretti also said he was excited to “check out the sandwich scene around here” and that he was hesitant to tell too many people back home about Tripping Falls because “it’d be a shame if a bunch of tourists overran the place.”
